"The TeamWorks Cooperative Network is in the process of launching a green landscape maintenance cooperative in Silicon Valley. The new cooperative uses organic garden maintenance methods and electric equipment. Starting the business is part of a larger process of building a network of worker-owned cooperatives, of which the first venture is a successful green house-cleaning cooperative that has been operating for more than six years. (A worker-owned cooperative is a business that is owned exclusively by the individuals who work in the business. This structure allows people working in fields that have traditionally been poorly paid to earn more income and access many other benefits such as health insurance. Workers also have a voice in governance and substantial training opportunities.)
The Operations and Sales Manager will play a key role in the launch of a new worker-owned green landscape maintenance service in Silicon Valley. He/she will meet with prospective clients at their homes to discuss their landscape maintenance needs and educate them about green landscape maintenance techniques. He/she will also manage the cooperative’s schedule and handle clients’ and potential clients’ questions and scheduling requests. The Operations and Sales Manager will work in close partnership with the members of the cooperative on the development of their business. A candidate who successfully masters the initial responsibilities will be in a good position to be considered for membership in the cooperative, advancement into new roles, and possibly into full-time work with the cooperative as it grows."
